How To Handle Your Skin Type

On this issue, we would be sharing on How to Handle Your Skin Type. We would be talking about various solutions you can apply to take care of your skin type thereby ensuring confidence in your general beauty.

                                                        The Dry Skin

If your skin happens to fall under this category, the following should be observed to help take care of your dry skin condition

1.     Use coconut oil or products containing coconut oil as it is a good emollient that fills the spaces between skin cells and creating a smooth surface.
2.     You can also use petroleum jelly for its ability to trap moisture underneath the skin. An alternative to this is products that contain vegetable glycerin.
3.     Apply enough cleanser to remove dirt and oil.
4.     Eat food rich in antioxidants and omega-3 e.g. blueberries, tomatoes, carrots, green tea.
5.     Wear protective gloves when doing house chores and handling cleaning chemicals to protect your hands from harsh conditions and irritants.

                                                        The Oily Skin

If you have an oily skin, observe the following

1.     Use cleanser, toner, and moisturizer twice every day. Look for cleansers that contain tea tree oil as it has the tendency to dissolve excess sebum (a thick oily substance, secreted by the sebaceous glands of the skin, that consists of fat, keratin, and cellular debris) which is the main culprit in this skin type. For a perfect moisturizer, try the new Marvels' Skincare Natural Moisturizing Lotion guaranteed to keep you hydrated all day long.
2.     You can use honey which is a natural humectant on its own and helps keep the skin moist but not oily.
3.     Exfoliate once a week using simple exfoliants such as tomatoes and 1tbs of sugar and leave for 5mins. If you use the new Marvels’ Skincare Natural Hibiscus Beauty Soap you don’t need to exfoliate anymore as it is enriched with orange peel which ensures frequent and adequate removal of dead skin cells and making room for new skin cells leaving you with a fresh and younger looking skin.
4.     Another great way to take care of this skin type is to use jojoba oil because it mimics the sebum and tricks the sebaceous glands into producing less sebum, therefore keeping oil levels balanced.

                                                    The Sensitive Skin

This is the most tender of all skin types and should be taken care of carefully. Observe the following if your skin falls under this category
1.     As difficult as it seems to avoid hot water if you have this skin type you should avoid using hot as frequent as possible as it strips the skin of its natural oils thereby promoting dryness.
2.     Watch out for chemicals and fragrance as this skin type gets easily irritated by them.
3.     Reduce the number of products you use. If it is more than four, consider cutting back. Go some days without makeup, maybe avoid that bronzer simply to help skin.
